Pearl Harbor: Day of Infamy

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Clarendon Hills Public Library

Event Details

Eighty years ago, everything changed for the United States. It was a day that our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles would never forget, a day that would live in infamy forevermore - December 7, 1941.

We welcome historian and battlefield expert Robert Mueller to retell the story of that fateful day through photos and first-hand accounts of the Pearl Harbor attack that propelled the U. S. into the Second World War.

Mr. Mueller will review why and how the Japanese almost wiped out the American Pacific Fleet in one fell swoop. Using individual stories of the men who responded to the attack, he will present the tactics and the consequences of the most treacherous assault ever launched upon American soil. The program ends with a review of the surviving relics and, appropriately, a visit to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. This is a virtual program. Register to receive Zoom link.
